For the first time since 2019, the College LoL Season will be capped off by an in-person top 8 event. The teams that make it out of the Round of 16 will receive a free trip to Los Angeles to play the last 3 rounds live at the LCS Studio. As in 2019, Riot will provide flights, accommodation, and on-site meals and snacks to up to 6 players and 2 staff members from each team.

Player and Rioter safety remains our top priority. Any team or player that does not wish to travel will be welcome to compete remotely, no questions asked. While we’re excited to have people back in the studio, we still want to accommodate anyone who is unwilling or unable to travel for any reason. All players and staff will be tested for COVID-19 each day upon arrival at the studio. Any player that tests positive will be provided with a PC so they can compete from their hotel room.

We are still evaluating whether or not there will be a live audience. We’ll be ready to share more after the Round of 16 ends.

A huge thank you to the feedback provided by participating teams and our Board of Advisors to help navigate this process, and the hard work of Riot’s global and NA esports teams to establish best practices for in-studio safety and contingency plans.
